The Courteeners - 'How Good It Was' - Reviewed

Posted on July 23, 2014 at 6:45 AM Comments comments (0)

2014 has been quiet if anything for The Courteeners. Having released 'Summer' around a month ago, a track completely different to what we've heard before from the Manchester band, we just didn't know what to expect.

'How Good It Was', certainly sounds a little more familiar than 'Summer'. It sounds more like 2013's ANNA. Admittedly, I had to listen to this track a few times to make a solid judgement on it, and I've reached the conclusion that it's yet another sol...

The 1975 are a band, who despite their recent rise, are receiving plenty of stick. But, do you remember when The 1975 were it? Admittedly, we've all thought this at some point.

But let's be honest, what's changed? Well, the reasons plenty have dispersed from The 1975 fanbase are that near enough all of the One Direction fanbase have flooded in since the band covered 'What Makes You Beautiful' in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge. Since then, 'Directioners' have tur...

The Libertines reformed yesterday evening to play a riotus set for British Summer Time at Hyde Park.

Ending with Carl and Pete hugging eachother to oblivion until both fell to the floor of the Hyde Park stage, The Libertines played out a triumphant 24 song-long set. Pre-performance Pete paid tribute to "Those who gave their lives for liberty", by saying to the rampant crowd "We remember and honour those who gave their lives for liberty. We thought it was ne...

Single Of The Week #5 - Pixel Fix - Lungs

Posted on June 30, 2014 at 3:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Synth pop band Pixel Fix last week released their new track 'Lungs', and now this week it's our single of the week.

Another catchy track from the Oxford lads, following the trend set by previous releases such as their 'Fall' EP. 'Lungs' offers that same groove Pixel Fix are known for, but even better. It's the kind of track that you can imagine a crowd of people at a festival, swaying and jiving to in sync. 'Lungs' is yet another brilliant track from Pixel Fix.
