Lily Allen covered Two Door Cinema Club's 'Something Good Can Work' in her replacement headlining performance for the Irish band who earlier this week pulled out of the line-up due to illness.
Prior to covering Two Door's 'Something Good Can Work', the singer/songwriter comically stated, "Do you know this one guys? Do you think we could figure this one out at such short notice?", before singing the lyrics from a piece of paper. Allen also sported a Two Door Cinema Club t-shirt throughout her headlining performance, offering as much compensation as possible to those of which purchased Latitude tickets due to Two Door's announcement.

Two Door Cinema Club have pulled out of the Latitude line-up due to illness. The band were set to headline the first night of the festival this Friday, but will now be replaced by Lily Allen.
Lead singer, Alex Trimble has been hospitalised due to stomach pains, forcing the band to cancel their headlining performance at Latitude this coming Friday as well as their warm-up gig at the o2 Academy Bornemouth tomorrow night. Two Door Cinema Club released a statement this morning, of which announced the cancellation and the reasons behind it, reading:
"It is with a heavy heart that we are going to need to cancel our upcoming shows at Latitude and Bournemouth Academy. Alex collapsed at Seattle airport on the way to London and has been hospitalised with a chronic stomach complaint. We are devastated to have to cancel shows that we were so looking forward to. We can only apologise and hope for your understanding at this time."
Response to the announcment has been understanding, with plenty wishing Alex Trimble well. Although many Latitude goers are undoubtedly dissappointed.

Catfish and the Bottlemen have this morning announced a headline tour of the UK.
The Bottlemen's tour will begin following the release of their debut album 'The Balcony', which will be released on the 15th of September this year. Van McCann and the band will also integrate their biggest headline gig to date at the Koko in London, into the tour. Of which was announced prior to the tour. Catfish and the Bottlemen will also be playing dates in their native Wales, as well as crossing the border into Scotland and closing the tour in Liverpool. RIFFED caught the Bottlemen last week in Hull, as they played their warm-up gig for their forthcoming festival season at the Fruit and if it were anything to go by, the tour should be a cracker. The band announced the news via their Facebook and Twitter feeds this morning, this being their Facebook post:
"We're so pleased to announce that we'll be back on the road for our biggest UK tour to date. The albums going to be out by then and it's going to be absolutely insane!
This band has dreamt of sound checking in some of these venues since we were kids never mind playing them, and to blow the roofs off of them with you lot is going to be special!"
It appears everything is going fantastically for the Bottlemen of late, after announcing their debut album, signing with Island Records and announcing their biggest headline tour to date, Van McCann must be one happy man.

BBC Three Cut Short Arctic Monkeys Headlining T in The Park Set

Arctic Monkeys' headlining set from T in The Park this evening was cut short to only 5 songs by BBC Three.
Yesterday's headliner Calvin Harris also had a lack of coverage by BBC Three. He was scheduled to appear on the channels highlights show post performance, only to later appear on the red button after Paolo Nutini, who was covered instead of the DJ. But many were outraged by the BBC's choices to shorten the Sheffield bands set to only five songs. As footage of Example and Disclosure's sets were shown for around an hour, to only show 30 minutes of the headliners baffled many. Although some saw it as a blessing, as much criticism was aimed upon the Monkey's during their set, as viewers were branding them as a boring and lifeless live band, as well as suggesting that they would rather be soaking up their Los Angeles lifestyle instead of performing in a Scottish field.

Ceiling Collapses During Superfood's Set At The KPH

Superfood blew the roof off The KPH last night, quite literally.
After just beginning their set, 90 seconds into their first track 'TV', the ceiling started to collapse. Huge rumbling noises were heared by the crowd, when plaster and floorboards began to fall from above. Somehow, only one of the 120+ crowd were injured, of which consisted of members from Coves, Swim Deep and Peace, albeit a minor injury.
Superfood were set to headline an all day event at The KPH, were performances earlier came from The Black Tambourines, The Magic Gang, Oxbow Lakes, and Palm Honey amongst others. There were no signs of such cases as the ceiling collapsing throughout the all-day event, it appears that The KPH's ceiling just wanted a bit of the action.

The Libertines have revealed that they'll begin work on a new album later this year and that it'll be released next year.
Carl, Pete, John and Gary will travel to Germany later this year, where work will begin on the bands first release since 'The Libertines' in 2004. When asked recently about the plans for new music, Carl Barat stated "Fresh material has always been the plan. Next year, it has to be," I don't wanna just go on the road because then you'll get cabin fever and have an epic fallout. So yeah, I want to keep something fresh coming in. We just need to find the time." Pete added "For some reason in my head, I'm thinking October, November time, that's what will have to happen. Basically, it'll have to be like Paris, but in Hamburg, and for a bit longer. I'm well up for it."
Will The Libertines still have that spark?

Pyschedelic quartet Temples feature in the new television ad for Strongbow's 'Bittersweet' cider.
'Keep In The Dark', has been taken from Temples debut album 'Sun Structures' by leading beverage supplier Strongbow to promote their new 'Bittersweet' cider. The advert, first televised late last week, uses Temples' track very wisely as, 'Drink up darling dressed in white' is sung by lead singer James Bagshaw, who unbeknown to him whilst writing Keep In The Dark's lyrics, would once be promoting a cider.
